Interview with Marco Ferrara
FEDERTEC

FEDERTEC is part of the POWER4MACHINES project, the area dedicated to mechatronic solutions, systems and components for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic fluid and pneumatic power transmission. What convinced you to sponsor this new area that has already attracted numerous attendees?

The world of machine tools and robots is one of the leading user sectors of mechatronic systems and components and our sponsorship and the organisation of a collective area, with the presence of several member companies, highlight the close technical and commercial link between these two sectors, both of them flagships of Made in Italy.

POWER4MACHINES emphasizes the close technological and commercial link between the machine tool world and the mechatronic systems and components sector

The sector represented by FEDERTEC is by nature complementary to that of machine tools, with which it shares technological evolution and user sectors. From your point of view, how is the Italian market currently going and how is the foreign one? What are the medium-term prospects?

The first six months of 2024 showed a not very brilliant economic situation for the sector of power transmission, with the Italian market slowing down considerably and exports also marking time compared to the results recorded in 2023. The situation should improve in the latter part of the year, with a positive continuation in 2025, also due to the investments that Italy is implementing through the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan).

BI-MU is just over 3 months away. What do you expect from this event? What do the enterprises in the area you supervise expect from their participation in the event?

For FEDERTEC, BI-MU is certainly an important showcase for the promotion of the sector we represent, whereas for the exhibiting companies is a unique opportunity, mainly to enhance their products and competences, with the natural aim of expanding their commercial business.
