Could you briefly introduce your company?
Fehlmann, a Swiss family-run company, was established in 1930 and has 200 employees today. Our production is very diverse: we manufacture from the simple machine to the most complex 5-axis machining centre. Our goal is to offer solutions that are precise, flexible in application, versatile and adaptable to multiple machining needs.
After some years of absence, this year you will return to the halls of BI-MU. Could you tell us the reasons for this decision?
That’s right! After our last participation in 2018, this year we are back as exhibitors at BI-MU and we will have a larger exhibition area than in the past. The Italian market is an important target for us and its needs are increasingly in line with our production offerings. These reasons, as well as the centrality and relevance of the Milan Exhibition Centre, convinced us to confirm our attendance and make us confident about the results we will be able to achieve.
Do you have special expectations from 34.BI-MU?
We will certainly have the opportunity to meet with our long-standing customers and acquire new interesting leads. We expect a good turnout of visitors, attracted by the high profile of exhibitors and the high quality of the offerings on display.

What will you exhibit at your stand?
Two machines shown in operation will be stars of our stand: PICOMAX 56, presented in the new mill version and VERSA 645 linear, the smallest model in the VERSA line, our top-of-the-range. Conceived for those who are looking for a modern and flexible machining centre, but with the features of a traditional milling machines, PICOMAX 56 mill is ideal for small-batch machining, production of equipment, moulds, prototypes and for training future skilled operators. VERSA 645 linear, a very dynamic and precise 5-axis milling machines will be presented at 34.BI-MU as a very flexible model thanks to its multiple functions – both for milling and grinding – and the integration of a state-of-the-art numerical control, Heidenhain TNC7. In addition to these two products, we will also show some of our innovative products.
Finally, what technology trends or issues will most influence your business?
Machinery flexibility is undoubtedly the most important issue for our business at the moment. Indeed, the integration of different technologies on a single machine, the opportunity to perform multiple types of machining operations with precision, the ability to work both in manual and in CNC modes and the autonomous management of machinery control are the features that are most demanded by our customers. We will continue to offer this “mix” in our solutions, always ensuring high performances with maximum efficiency and accuracy. Moreover, we will always devote special attention to the issue of sustainability, through the use of software and technologies designed to reduce consumption and by taking business decisions aimed at minimal environmental impact.
