KUKA will again be among the key players of RobotHeart at BI-MU. What are your considerations on the trade show and on the initiative?
A great opportunity for sharing and an attraction for all the operators in the sector, BI-MU has always be an important event for KUKA: the world of machine tools goes hand in hand with the robotics sector and it is extremely strategic for our business. Moreover, through RobotHeart, the exhibition brings together all the robotics exponents in its halls, thus representing a unique chance to meet at national level in Italy. We have very positive feedback about our participation in the first edition of the initiative in 2022, so we will not miss it this year, either!
What are your expectations for this second edition?
We have very high expectations for the next edition of RobotHeart. Our participation will allow us to bring our technologies to the market and present our innovations, but not only that. Direct exchange of views and dialogue with the numerous operators attending the trade show will offer us the opportunity to study the situation of the sector in a concrete and practical way, thus enabling us to understand and identify the new trends in robotics, as well as to meet the future demands of our customers in the best way.
“… the exhibition will allow us to bring our technologies to the market. Particularly, our stand display will focus on three main themes: mobile robotics, digital service and sustainability …” |
What will you exhibit at your stand?
Our stand display will focus on three main themes: mobile robotics, digital services and sustainability. With regard to the first theme, that of mobility, we will present the latest KUKA AMR models, namely the KMP (KUKA Mobile Platform) 3000 and the KMP 1500, equipped with the innovative intelligent navigation system, as a testimony to our commitment to industrial automation and to the evolution of the intralogistics sector. As regards digital services – an area on which we are increasingly focusing, thanks to our new KUKA Digital Division – we will feature our KUKA.Sim simulation software, our iiQoT Platform that provides real-time data on the condition of the entire robot fleet, and my.KUKA digital portal that offers a wide range of services for our customers. Finally, we will have a focus on sustainability, in particular on our continuous efforts to reduce the energy consumption of our controllers and robots (by up to 60%), the recycling of second-hand robots as a contribution to the circular economy, and our commitment to modernising our production lines.
What are the most dynamic and important fields of application for your business at the moment?
In addition to the machine automation sector, which is our point of reference, there are many fast-growing segments, on which we are increasingly focusing. The areas of logistics, intralogistics, general industry and consumer goods, special applications – such as 3D printing, marble and composite processing, but also the construction world – are currently among the most dynamic fields and the trends of the future. I would like to conclude by mentioning the topic of energy, for which we are working in close contact with numerous companies in the sector of renewable energy plants.
What are your predictions for the future of the sector and the future of KUKA?
We personally have positive predictions for 2024, recovering from 2023 reduction in demand in the robotics field. In general, we expect a bright future for the industry of the sector and consequently also for KUKA. After all, over the years, we have always been able to transform ourselves and be leaders in the technologies and industries of interest to the market. We will certainly go on in this direction, with new, increasingly accessible and, above all, concrete solutions. Our commitment to the future is already underway: at present, in addition to the product offering for BI-MU, we are already working on further innovations, such as, for example, new digital services and the implementation of our artificial intelligence tools.
