Interview with Cristian Parmeggiani
3DZ

What are your considerations on BI-MU and on the piùAdditive initiative?

BI-MU is very important for us: the exhibition is a point of reference for the mechanical engineering industry, one of the sectors of greatest interest to us. Moreover, in particular thanks to the piùAdditive initiative, edition after edition, the focus of the trade show on the world of Additive is ever-increasing. For these reasons, we at 3DZ – at the forefront in the field of 3D printing and additive manufacturing technologies at the service of companies – we cannot miss this event and we are sure that, as always, our presence will be advantageous, in terms of contacts and visibility.

Do you have special expectations for this edition?

We have very positive expectations. Indeed, we expect a large turnout of visitors interested in discovering all the capabilities of 3D printing technologies. To date, general attention to this type of solutions is increasing and this will undoubtedly be confirmed in the halls of 34.BI-MU.

What will you exhibit at your stand?

Our stand will be organised into application areas, with the aim of offering visitors practical and direct examples of various uses of 3D printing in multiple sectors, highlighting the advantages of this technology as a real tool for final production. In particular, we will feature our latest 3D printers, including the new FX10 Markforged, the first printer that prints both metal and composite, and PSLA 270, the latest resin printer from 3D Systems, capable of printing parts with excellent resolution. Then, we will also show a selection of printers from the leading brands: Markforged, 3D Systems, Formlabs and Nexa3D. We will also showcase new printing materials and innovations related to the world of software and 3D scanning, such as Spider II and Artec Point by Artec3D.

What are the most dynamic application areas for your company at the moment and the ones that will influence your production in the near future?

Presently, the most significant applications include production equipment and then customised components for automated machinery. Additive Manufacturing offers considerable potential and advantages in the production of customised parts according to requirements: maximum shape design freedom, functional prototypes and totally customised end-use parts made in a very short time. As for sectors, we see a lot of application potential in mechanical engineering and automation, in addition to the “historical” fields of jewellery, automotive and aerospace.

What are your predictions concerning the trend of the Additive Manufacturing sector?

The growth trend of Additive Manufacturing will continue even in the coming years, especially in the industrial context. The Additive sector will become more and more important in production, thanks to the companies’ massive adoption of 3D printing systems, dedicated not only to prototyping but also to the production of final components and medium-sized batches, pre-series and special parts. An important element of this growth will be the Transition 5.0 Plan, which will be a driving force for our sector.

And what about the future of your company?

3DZ has a goal of continued growth, both in economic and structural terms. We are the largest 3D printing reseller in Europe and partners of the most important manufacturers. We are developing in Italy and abroad – in particular in France, Spain, Portugal and the Balkans. We will go on in this direction to strengthen our presence in the Additive Manufacturing scenario. Our other strategic guideline is innovation and the selection of the best products and brands, to offer the right solution to each company. Finally, we aim to increase training support to our customers, who increasingly ask us to accompany them after purchasing, in order to be able to use the full potential of printers.
