How do you see the trend of the additive sector?
For several years, additive manufacturing has been characterised by a trend of very strong and steady growth. Even if the first part of 2024 was slowly, due to the freeze of incentives and the slowdown of the economy in the European market, the sector data are very positive and since May, we have been already experiencing a good recovery and seeing positive activity among companies in the industry. At RIDIX, we have been working in the additive field for about 20 years and we are very pleased with the results we have achieved Indeed, this activity of ours represents a very innovative proposal in our offering and keeps on offering us numerous competitive advantages.
How does piùAdditive fit in this scenario?
RIDIX has a strong connection with piùAdditive: indeed, we are among the founding members of AITA, the Italian Association of Additive Technologies that sponsors the initiative, and we have always supported all its activities. To date, it is necessary and appropriate to give high visibility to additive solutions in the halls of BI-MU, as a testimony to the growing importance of this sector in the manufacturing field. That is why we believe that piùAdditive is a valuable project: by finding the right context in the exhibition to bring together all the additive players, it acts as a catalyst of innovative and emerging technologies in the sector.
Do you have particular expectations from this year’s edition of BI-MU and, consequently, of piùAdditive?
We are very confident about the success of the exhibition and the great interest of the public in piùAdditive. The rebound of the manufacturing sector and the favourable positioning of the event in October make us optimistic about the participation of operators and the contacts we will be able to obtain. Therefore, unlike in the edition two years ago, – when we participated in a reduced form, as we were hosted in the stands of some of our principals – at 34.BI-MU, we will be present with our own stand, full of innovations. In addition, the event area in the stand of AITA will host very interesting and appealing meetings dedicated to additive manufacturing, including our speech.

Could you give us some details about your stand presentation?
Our stand display will illustrate all our technologies and we will physically bring state-of-the-art products to our stand, all of them of the highest level. For example, we will show additive solutions for metal applications and marking solutions from TRUMPF, a high-speed milling machine from RÖDERS – our flagship product – and a grinding solution from ZIERSCH.
Talking about application areas: which are the most dynamic ones at the moment?
After the difficulties caused by the pandemic, the aeronautics and aerospace sectors are currently experiencing a real boom. Moreover, we are seeing the transformation of the biomedical sector, a field that is increasingly embracing digital additive technologies, particularly through the use of 3D printing. Indeed, this solution allows a rapid production of customized biomedical equipment for each individual patient at the same cost as “mass” production. Finally, at the moment, we are also very active in supplying mechanical equipment for the luxury and fashion sectors.
What do you envisage for the future of RIDIX?
Today, an above-average after-sale service can make the difference to a company’s competitiveness. That is why we will focus on this aspect and propose fast and continuous technical accompaniment and consulting services. In addition, we will increasingly specialise in the development of new technologies that are always highly advanced and, consequently, we will invest considerably in the professional education and training of our staff. Over the years, our company path has always been on the rise and so will be in the future: our entrepreneurial curiosity and our forward-looking spirit, which have always distinguished us, will lead us towards new challenges and new innovative areas yet to be discovered.
