NEW: ROLLOMATIC GRINDSMART®630RS

UNMATCHED FLEXIBILITY

To meet the increasing demands of the medtech industries, Rollomatic introduces an evolution of its flagship GrindSmart®630 series, which now incorporates a 6-axis Fanuc robot, offering even greater flexibility and the ability to load tools with up to 500.0 mm overall length.

The GrindSmart®630RW3, RW and RS high-precision 6-axis grinding machines are ideal to produce long drills, particularly in the medical sector. Thanks to their innovative kinematic, these new machine models are perfectly adapted to produce a wide variety of applications covering a range of diameters from 0.1 to 20.0 mm, for both large and small production runs.

The GrindSmart® tool grinders range are equipped with linear and rotary torque motors, that provide enhanced surface finish. When combined with the synchronous spindle this technology ensures constant rotation speed, independent of motor load, for uniform surfaces. The use of the same coolant oil for cooling the linear motors and for grinding, enables high-performance production at constant temperature, without additional energy consumption.

SMART FACTORY READY
The new GrindSmart®630 RS/RW/RW3 models are ideally suited to unattended production.
• Automatic handling of different diameters
• Smart Laser Measurement for non-contact in-process inspection and automatic compensation
• SmartChanger®, the ultra-fast automatic wheel and coolant nozzle changer

EFFICIENCY AND ERGONOMICS
The design has been thought through to ensure a minimal footprint and low energy consumption. This new machine model is ideal for tools producers concerned with their energy efficiency and space floor utilization. Equipped with a latest generation console, it is particularly user-friendly.

Unique axis configuration
The machine features 4 linear and 2 rotary axes. The unique aspect is the workhead which is mounted on a CNC linear axis. With this feature, the tool grinding and the well-known Rollomatic peel grinding process are combined together into a single machine model. The benefit of the traveling workhead for peel grinding operations is that the grinding wheel is always on top of the steady rest while the workhead axis is pushing the tool through the grinding wheel, providing excellent process stability. This CNC workhead axis is also a great benefit for drill applications, as an innovative steady rest design combines optimal tool support for fluting and for pointing.

Adapted to the unpredictable
Strausak is an integral part of the group, it significantly broadened the spectrum of tool grinding solutions, as showcased by its flagship model STRAUSAK ONE. This latest-generation 5-axis grinding machine has been designed for the production of special tools, inserts and resharpening. The STRAUSAK ONE seamlessly integrates precision with unparalleled efficiency.

Intelligent design
STRAUSAK ONE is a versatile 5-axis CNC grinding machine tailored for the high-quality production or resharpening of cutting tools up to 32 mm in diameter. The NUMROTO programming software ensures user-friendly and intuitive programming and offers an array of limitless possibilities. 3D simulations are characterized by their exceptional accuracy and performance predictions are particularly reliable.

NEW: Enhanced precision for long tools
The new travelling steady rest on the Strausak ONE machine enables stable and precise production of long tools. Mounted on an additional interpolated axis, it ensures a support that is constantly positioned under the grinding point, as well as stable geometry over the entire length of the tool. Combined with a self-centring steady rest, it also provides rigid support when grinding conical geometries.

Its automatic positioning also saves considerable time when producing batches of tools of varying lengths or cross-sections. Finally, this support automatically retracts under the chuck when an operation requires omnidirectional access to the tool.
