What does BI-MU represent for your company?
For Italy, BI-MU is the machine tool exhibition par excellence. In recent years, other sector-related trade fairs have come out, but, from my long experience, I can say that BI-MU remains the leading and most attractive event for all manufacturers and users in our country. The machine tool market cannot do without this trade show, so focused and emblematic of the sector. Consequently, we certainly cannot miss this important event!
What will you show at your sand?
The star of our stand presentation will be the XIOS G 2000 T, a 6-axis multitasking machine with both turning and milling capabilities. This specific model is the largest among its latest versions and considerably facilitates the work in a workshop. Thanks to a special finish on the finished pieces, the exhibited machine can offer a placement time reduction, higher precision and high-quality production. We are very pleased with our proposal and look forward with enthusiasm to the event next October to present it to visitors.
What are your expectations for this edition?
As usual, even in this edition, this exhibition will give us the opportunity to make the most of our technological offerings. Moreover, it will be the ideal location where to meet our long-standing customers, but also many prospects, even if the economic situation is rather uncertain.

Considering the current economic situation, could you tell us more about it? How are you facing it?
Zayer has a very rich customer portfolio and many confirmed orders. However, I must admit that to date the market is very cautious due to the international geopolitical instability, the economy that is less flourishing than in the last years and investment incentives still stuck. The sector is certainly making progress but at a slow pace. Despite this, we remain optimistic and proactive: these are precious moments that drive you to find new solutions and take new steps that were never taken before, because they were not necessary. My advice is to never let your guard down, trying to hold firm to what you have done so far.
What are the requests or trends that will most influence your business?
Our customers demand reliability, continuity and attention, also in service. In this framework, our market presence for over 70 years, our problem-solving skills and our extensive technical experience make us an ideal business partner, able to offer added value in the purchasing process. With regard to technologies, versatility is undoubtedly the most relevant trend of the moment. When choosing a machine, importance is no longer given only to its production performance, but also to its flexibility, optimization of processing time and quality of finished parts. Our machines are thus multi-tasking and flexible – like that we will have on show or the ZERO milling machine, with high levels of precision and features equivalent to those of a smaller high-performance and fast machining centre. In the years to come, we will keep on enriching with increasingly innovative solutions our already comprehensive catalogue, consisting of moving-column, gantry and bridge-type machines. As for heads, we will highlight different solutions in our proposal: from the classic 45° power head at 8,000 rpm or with electro-spindle, available with 360,000 positions and in continuous 5-axis version, to the 30° head with the same features, which, unique in the panorama, also allows undercut machining.
Are you confident about the future of Zayer?
Very confident. As I said before, this is a time of “calmness”, of which we should take advantage and we are doing this by strengthening certain aspects of our company, such as assistance services, staff training and logistics management. We are also increasing our worldwide presence. Our Spanish parent company has long been supported by numerous subsidiaries around the world, but, just recently, we opened a new branch in the United States, one in China and, in addition, a centralised spare parts warehouse for Europe.
