Revamping & Retrofitting was the new exhibition project hosted at BI-MU, which showed how machine tools and plants can have a new life, if they are adequately renewed and equipped with new functionalities.
In the spotlight of the exhibition were metal cutting and metal forming machines, robots and automation systems that have been revamped and retrofitted.
The product offering of Revamping consists of Machines and Systems that meet the criteria set forth in Industry 4.0, with a specific focus on the theme of sustainable production.
The product offering of Retrofitting is made up of machines and systems on which maintenance and retrofitting work has been carried out, involving the replacement of key constituent parts. On display will be machinery built after the issuance of the Machinery Directive 98/37CE of 1998. Basically, what is called “Certified Pre-owned Machinery“.
The offer on show was target a demand interested in cost-effective solutions, however without neglecting quality and, of course, (also) the safety criteria of the Machinery Directive.
With this new initiative, BI-MU has confirmed its attention to the issue of sustainability – already well highlighted in its traditional exhibition – also giving space to those who choose to extend a machinery life, in line with the principles of the Circular Economy.
