Founded in 1983, ELBO CONTROLLI NIKKEN is now an established leading enterprise in the design and production of electronic equipment for machine tools in Italy and worldwide, (machines for pre-registration, measurement, tool inspection and digital read-outs). More generally, the company creates efficiency solutions for engineering workshops. Head of the company, which is based in Meda, is Massimiliano Tasca, assisted by his son Federico.
Mr Tasca, how do you see the current economic situation?
This period is still rather positive for us, despite the context of international uncertainty. Last September, at EMO Hannover, we met many Asian customers, mostly from India and China. The feedback has been satisfactory, but we must say that, however, we record a downturn in order intake from abroad.
And Italy?
The level of demand from Italian customers is still remarkable. We have numerous open transactions and the end of this year will surely be positive. The year 2024 is likely to be more favourable, also thanks to the novelties presented at EMO.
Shall we talk about BI-MU then? Will you be there?
Of course! We are always very pleased to take part in this event, because it usually allows us to present our new products and start many negotiations. Just to give you an idea, ELBO CONTROLLI NIKKEN participates directly only in EMO and BI-MU. Then, we have an indirect presence with our agents and sales representatives at about 25-30 fairs around the world, but only BI-MU is directly attended like EMO. Our strategy regarding this double appointment is that at EMO we preview prototypes, whereas at BI-MU we preview our finished, engineered products.

What is so special about BI-MU?
BI-MU is a great event in Italy, both for users and dealers. It has an excellent location: Milan is perfect for our business, because it is central to our customers and dealers. In addition, the organization is really efficient. The only downside is the still high costs, but we, at the company, consider this event an investment for the future.
